Matt Kracht

Matt Kracht writes and illustrates comic nature books that turn bird identification into satire. Chronicle Books describes him as an amateur birder and also credits him with The Field Guide to Dumb Birds of North America. The Field Guide to Dumb Birds of the Whole Stupid World extends that earlier spoof across six continents. Published in December 2021, the 192-page parody combines observations about calls, migration and markings with Kracht's drawings and irreverent invented labels.
