Mina Carter

Mina Carter writes paranormal and science-fiction romance in compact, connected series. The Captain’s Challenge belongs to City Wolves: Master of the City, where pack alliances and family ambition shape Vanessa's choices. Her brother Cyan tries to use her future to strengthen his own position, while the relationship threads involving Veyr, Jace, and earlier members of the city pack continue around that conflict. The title occupies the seventh place in its linked sequence, after Submitting to the Captain and before The Master's Baby. Carter also groups the story with her Smut-Shorties, a collection of brief romances designed to return quickly to established supernatural communities and pairings. The Captain’s Challenge therefore works less as a stand-alone introduction than as a continuation of the hierarchy, loyalties, and personal connections built across the preceding installments. Its short form keeps attention on Vanessa's attempt to resist a decision being made for political advantage rather than for her own happiness.
