Patty Blount
Patty Blount writes novels for younger readers and romantic fiction whose stories often place resilient characters inside difficult family and social circumstances. His Touch opens the multi-author Summer in New York series and follows paramedic Reid Bennett, single mother Kara Larsen, and Kara’s young daughter Nadia. Its 2015 publication brings an emergency-services setting into a romance shaped by caregiving, trust, and the practical pressures surrounding parenthood. Blount grew up in Queens and has described books as the place where she first found her voice. Her wider bibliography includes Send, TMI, Some Boys, and Someone I Used to Know, works associated with internet behavior, consent, trauma, and recovery in young people's experiences. His Touch belongs to the relationship-centered contemporary side of that career, but it retains her interest in characters learning to act responsibly toward other people. The book also establishes the opening position in a connected sequence completed collectively by Jolyse Barnett and Jennifer Gracen.
