Paula Brackston
Paula Brackston blends historical settings, folklore, and time travel around women discovering unusual abilities. The Little Shop of Found Things begins the Found Things series with Xanthe Westlake, an antiques dealer who can sense the histories attached to certain objects. After a silver chatelaine draws her toward a seventeenth-century injustice, Xanthe must use that connection to the past while building a new life with her mother in Marlborough. St. Martin’s Press issued the novel in 2018. Brackston’s earlier work includes several witch-centered historical fantasies, and this series carries forward her interest in place, material objects, and the personal obligations created when the past becomes immediate.
