Rob Lowe began acting in childhood and later became a producer and memoirist, building a career across film and television. Stories I Only Tell My Friends is his 2011 autobiography, published by Henry Holt and Company. The book follows his early years in Ohio and Malibu, the making of The Outsiders, his association with the group labeled the Brat Pack, and his later work on The West Wing. Lowe also writes about career reversals, sobriety, marriage, and fatherhood, keeping the focus on experiences he witnessed rather than assembling a conventional celebrity chronology. It was his first memoir and was followed by Love Life in 2014.
