Sherri Duskey Rinker writes children's books that pair rhythmic language with machines, teamwork, and bedtime routines. Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site, illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld and published by Chronicle Books in 2011, follows five construction vehicles as they finish work and settle down for the night. It began a continuing Construction Site series. Rinker also wrote Steam Train, Dream Train with Lichtenheld, while later Construction Site books have featured illustrations by AG Ford. Before publishing books, she spent twenty-five years in graphic design. Her work has since expanded beyond picture books to include the middle-grade Revver the Speedway Squirrel novels.
