This page holds official correspondence rather than authored books. Shoghi Effendi was appointed Guardian of the Baháʼí Faith in 1921 at twenty-four, while still studying at Oxford, and spent thirty-six years turning a scattered movement into an administrative order: national assemblies, staged expansion plans, and the shrine terraces at Haifa. Most of what appears here is letters to national communities, collected and printed, so the register is directive rather than literary. He also translated Baháʼu'lláh into an English deliberately modelled on the King James Bible, which set how the faith sounds in English to this day. He died in London in 1957 having named no successor.
