Stacey Demarco left senior marketing and public relations posts at multinational companies to work full time in Sydney as a pagan practitioner and writer, trading as The Modern Witch. She sells readings, workshops, retreats and courses, was formerly on the committee of the Pagan Awareness Network, started the Pagan Prayer Project, and was named psychic of the year by the Australian Psychics Association in 2009. Witch in the Boardroom, which applies spellwork and magical thinking to ordinary office life, has reached a third edition, and she compiles a lunar and seasonal diary every year in separate northern and southern versions. Rockpool published Queen of the Moon Oracle in 2018: 44 cards and a guidebook, illustrated by the Hungarian-born artist Kinga Britschgi, following the moon through a full cycle and around the turning year, with notes on which phases suit ritual, spell craft and the making of talismans.
