Trixie Mattel

Brian Firkus performs as Trixie Mattel, placed sixth on the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2015, then returned to win All Stars three years later. He also records folk and country music in character, playing guitar and autoharp on albums including Two Birds, One Stone and Barbara. Trixie and Katya's Guide to Modern Womanhood, written with Brian McCook, who performs as Katya Zamolodchikova, came from Plume in 2020 and made the American bestseller list. It sends up the etiquette manual, mixing real advice on money and friendship with straight-faced nonsense.
