Darren Clarke
Clarke won the Open Championship at Royal St George's in 2011 at forty-two, after five Ryder Cups as a player, and captained the side in 2016. An Open Book covers that and the harder material: his wife Heather died of cancer in 2006 and he played in the Ryder Cup six weeks later, holing putts in front of a crowd that knew exactly what it was watching. He is from Dungannon in Northern Ireland. The book is candid about the drinking and about what those years were actually like.
