William Landay

Landay worked as an assistant district attorney in Boston before writing, and the courtroom procedure in his novels is the part he does not need to research. Defending Jacob turns on a prosecutor whose fourteen-year-old son is charged with killing a classmate, and on how fast a parent stops weighing evidence. It was adapted for television with Chris Evans. His first novel took a dagger award for a debut. He writes slowly, with years between books.
