William Shakespeare, John Fletcher

William Shakespeare (1564-1616), the English dramatist and poet born in Stratford-upon-Avon, needs little introduction. His collaborator John Fletcher (1579-1625) was a leading playwright of the next generation who succeeded Shakespeare as house dramatist for the King's Men and often worked alongside Francis Beaumont.
