About this book
The title page reads A Reaping by E. F. Benson. A dedication line reads, to Lady Evelyn Lister. The contents give the headings June, July, August and September, among others, each followed by a number.
A section headed June says that, of all subjects, perhaps none is so utterly below possible zones of interest as that of health. The narrator says that Legs sliced his drive very badly at the fourth hole at Woking and hit the front of the engine of an up-train with extraordinary violence. The narrator mentions some depressing pages that he wishes to Heaven he had not burned. The narrator considers that Helen looked prouder than Mr. Holmes, but says she disagrees with him.
