Abolition For The People

Colin Kaepernick’s edited book “Abolition For The People” is a manifesto that calls for a society free of police and jails. Thirty articles from a variety of voices—including academics, activists, political prisoners, and relatives of people impacted by the anti-Black terrorism of law enforcement and prisons—are collected in this collection. It urges readers to act to topple these structures to create a more equitable future.

The book offers a road map for an abolitionist future in which societies might be genuinely free, secure, and respected. After every piece, there is a reader’s guide to aid readers in understanding the complexities of abolitionist ideas.
