About this book

Flea's memoir begins in Ethiopia, where a 2010 trip with fellow musicians led to a small church in Harar. Three elderly women sang there, and Rachel Unthank answered with an English folk song.

A poem by Patti Smith traces his life from birth in Australia to America and calls him a child hungry for it all.

About the author

Flea - BDeBooks
Flea

Flea is the bass player in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which he co-founded at school in Los Angeles in 1983 with three friends, two of whom are dead. Acid for the Children stops before the band starts: it is about a Melbourne childhood, moving to America, a violent stepfather, jazz trumpet lessons, and the drugs he was taking heavily by thirteen.
