The contents list for Chapter I, among others, My Parents and their Family, Troubles at Stralsund and the Appeal of the Evangelical Preachers. The introduction says that by August 29, 1546, Sastrow was back at Stralsund, and that through the good offices of Dr. Knipstrow, the general superintendent, he secured a post in the ducal chancellerie at Wolgast.
The introduction says that on March 10, 1547, Sastrow accompanied the ducal chancellors in the character of notary on a mission to the emperor, and that Sastrow had to cross the field of Muhlberg. A speaker tells that a burgomaster told a servant to take them with his compliments to a certain private individual, who happened to be a butcher with a stock of beautiful, luscious meat. The butcher answers, when asked about the liquor he could offer, that he has some excellent Nordhausen beer.
