About this book

Written by J.C. Peterson 'Being Mary Bennet' is a young adult romance novel. In the story, the character, Marnie Barnes, identifies more with Mary Bennet from 'Pride and Prejudice' than the popular Lizzie Bennet. Marnie starts a journey of self-discovery, making new friends, meeting a cute boy, and adopting a rescue pup named Sir Pat.

J.C. Peterson

J.C. Peterson is a Denver-based writer of contemporary teen fiction whose Barnes sisters stories recast Jane Austen character types in present-day coming-of-age plots. Being Mary Bennet, her debut, follows Marnie Barnes after school setbacks force her to recognize that her carefully managed life resembles the overlooked Bennet sister more than Elizabeth.
