Church History (Volumes 1-3) is by J. H. Kurtz. The text is divided into numbered sections, with section headings such as The Chief Representatives of Historical Theology. A transcriber's note says that the table of contents was updated to agree with the headings and subheadings of the text.
One passage follows the popes and rulers of the thirteenth century, among them Innocent IV, Alexander IV, Urban IV and Clement IV, and Manfred, Conradin and Charles of Anjou. Another names the theologians Möhler, Döllinger, Hefele and Hase, and mentions the Old Catholic movement and the Vatican Council; Hefele, from 1840 professor at Tübingen and from 1869 Bishop of Rottenburg, is credited with a History of the Councils. A further passage concerns a sect in Russia that Ivan III took with him from Novgorod to Moscow in 1480.
