Cottage Poems
Cottage Poems is an 1811 verse collection by Patrick Brontë (1777-1861), the Irish-born clergyman who became perpetual curate of Haworth and the father of Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Brontë. Written for the cottagers of his early Yorkshire parishes, the simple devotional poems predate his famous daughters’ birth. The book is of lasting interest chiefly for its author’s place at the head of the Brontë story, a glimpse of the literary household’s origins. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
