About this book

Dead Man's Rock is credited to Arthur Quiller-Couch. The contents list, among others, has chapters that tell of the strange will of my grandfather, Amos Trenoweth, and of two strange men that watched the sea upon Polkimbra Beach. A heading in the contents list reads The Quest of the Great Ruby.

A dedication says: To the Memory of My Father I dedicate this book. The narrator asks the reader to pass by fourteen years and take up the tale far from Lantrig. The text describes an aunt and uncle who would often drive or walk over to Lantrig, seldom without some little present. The narrator says that Simon Colliver was spied moving among a happy and innocent crowd like an evil spirit.
