About this book

Dr. Mabuse, Master of Mystery is the 1921 thriller by the Luxembourg-born writer Norbert Jacques that gave the world one of fiction's great criminal masterminds. Doctor Mabuse is a hypnotist, gambler, forger, and manipulator who moves through the feverish, unstable world of Germany after the First World War, bending weaker men and women to his will and always slipping beyond the reach of the law. The novel caught the anxiety and corruption of its time so sharply that Fritz Lang turned it into a landmark of early cinema the following year. This free PDF and EPUB presents the complete English translation of the book behind the famous films.
