About this book

Brian Slagel's book "For The Sake of Heaviness" provides an insider's perspective on the ascent of Metal Blade Records, a well-known heavy music label. The book tells the story of how Slagel, a metal-loving young guy from Southern California, grew from a one-man show in his mother's un-air-conditioned garage to become a major force in the world of music. It offers details about his collaborations with bands like Slayer, Metallica, and others, as well as his impact on their professional journeys. The story is jam-packed with first-hand accounts, in-depth interviews with guests, and an examination of the shifting music industry landscape.
