About this book
Friendship Village is by Zona Gale, and the author's note says that Friendship Village is not known to the author, nor are any of its people, save in the comradeship offered there. The note commends the little real home towns to those who have such a bond to cherish.
A speaker says Mis' Sykes is a great society woman who gets to ride to the cemetery at every funeral. A speaker says the Friendship Married Ladies' Cemetery Improvement Sodality is at its wits' end to get up a new entertainment. A chapter headed Of the Sky and Some Rosemary tells of the Friendship Married Ladies' Cemetery Improvement Sodality holding its Evening Benefit at the narrator's house, where Delia More came to help in the kitchen. When the women of Friendship learned that someone was in the kitchen, they all went, deliberately or for a drink of water, to speak with her.
