About this book
George Cruikshank is by William Makepeace Thackeray, reprinted from the Westminster Review for June, 1840. The text says that Mr. Cruikshank is the friend of the young especially. The text describes a print called Philoprogenitiveness, in which a father, possessor of an enormous nose and family, is surrounded by the latter.
The writer says that Mr. Bumble's courtship is even better in Cruikshank's version than in Boz's exquisite account of the interview. The writer calls the picture of Sykes and the dog a fine touching picture of melancholy desolation. The writer describes a regiment of heroes marching to divine service to the tune of the British Grenadiers.
