Eric Kester’s high school drama “Gut Check” examines toxic masculinity, concussions, body image, and brotherhood. The main character of the story Wyatt, wants to play football. And bond with his elder brother Brett rather than for glory or fame. When Brett has a concussion the narrative takes a different course, requiring Wyatt to make a tough choice.
