About this book

Kin Stewart has built a family in San Francisco after a failed assignment stranded him far from his own time. When agents finally arrive to bring him back, his life with his daughter Miranda conflicts with obligations he barely remembers. This science fiction novel follows a former agent caught between families separated by time.

About the author

Mike Chen

Here and Now and Then gives a time-travelling agent a daughter in the present that the rules forbid him to keep, and the science fiction is the machinery while the parenting is the actual book. Chen puts people with ordinary problems inside genre premises: a pandemic road trip, a Star Wars novel, a woman with amnesia in a world of superheroes.
