Holidays at the Grange, or A Week's Delight, offers games and stories for parlor and fireside by Emily Mayer Higgins. The contents list names, among others, a tale called Orikama, or the White Water-Lily, labelled an Indian tale, and one called The Spectre of Alcantra, or the Conde's Daughters, labelled a tale of Spain. The text says Mary, who possessed a fine talent for drawing, and frequently sketched from nature, discovered that a complete set of artist's colors and brushes had fallen to her lot.
A character named Margaret says Dead! all dead! and sinks down into the nearest seat, after hearing that an account of an uncle's death was seen in the paper yesterday. A character named Tom says the Grand Vizier presented him, and that the Sultan and he had a good deal of pleasant conversation together.
