Imperialism at the Inter-Colonial Conference is a political pamphlet by John Castell Hopkins (1864-1923), the Canadian Conservative writer, journalist, and editor who produced the annual Canadian Annual Review of Public Affairs from 1901 onward and was a leading promoter of imperial federation. Hopkins was a founding figure of the Canadian Society of Authors and the Empire Club of Canada, and his journalism championed closer political and economic ties between Canada and the British Empire. The pamphlet addresses the role of imperial questions at one of the periodic colonial conferences that met in London to coordinate policy across the self-governing British dominions. The piece is a primary source for the imperial federation movement in pre-First World War Canada. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
