About this book
International Language, Past, Present & Future is a book by Walter John Clark. The title page adds With Specimens of Esperanto and Grammar. The preface carries a line credited to Max Müller, An artificial language may be more regular, more perfect, and easier to learn than a natural one.
The preface says the tongue is a little member that should no longer be allowed to divide the nations. The text asks whether the busy world can afford a language difficulty. A passage compares Volapük with Idiom Neutral and says even a brief specimen is enough to show the main line of improvement. The text gives Esperanto lines such as Patro nia, kiu estas en la ĉielo, sankta estu via nomo.
