About this book

Captain John MacLea leads a reassembled militia company in a historical adventure about a determined defense that ends in retreat when stronger forces overwhelm them. The opening places MacLea and Alec Murray near the Niagara River and Lake Ontario, watching for an American advance through fog. Their Canadian volunteers include returning men whose earlier service makes loyalty and trust pressing concerns.
