“Jolly Phonics Activity Book 1” is the first in a series of seven fun-filled activity books for children, covering the first group of letter sounds. The book was written by Sue Lloyd and Sara Wernham and published by Jolly Learning. The book teaches children to read and write using synthetic phonics in a fun and engaging way. Each of these 36-page activity books for children aged 3+ includes 2 pages of stickers providing a range of fun activities for children to complete, including coloring, and handwriting practice.

About the author

Sue Lloyd

Lloyd was a primary school teacher in Lowestoft who grew frustrated with how reading was being taught and worked out a synthetic phonics method, teaching forty-two letter sounds with actions before moving on to whole words. Jolly Phonics came out of that, published from 1992 by Chris Jolly, and the workbooks and activity books are its classroom material.
