About this book

“Life Code: The New Rules For Winning in the Real World” is a book written by Phillip C. McGraw, an American television personality, author, and psychologist. The book is a self-help guide that provides readers with the tools to identify and protect themselves from negative people, whom McGraw refers to as BAITERs (Backstabbers, Abusers, Imposters, Takers, Exploiters, Reckless).

The book also contains the “Evil Eight” identifiers and the “Nefarious 15” tactics that negative people use to exploit others, as well as the “Sweet 16” tactics for winning in the real world.

McGraw took a doctorate in clinical psychology in 1979 and spent roughly two decades in practice and in trial consulting in Texas. His firm advised Oprah Winfrey's legal team during the 1998 beef defamation trial in Amarillo, which is how the two met and how the weekly segments began that grew into his own programme in 2002.
