About this book
The Memoirs of the Duchesse de Dino are the diaries and recollections of Dorothée de Talleyrand-Périgord, Duchesse de Dino, a central figure in the diplomatic society of nineteenth century Europe. Niece by marriage and close companion of the great statesman Talleyrand, she moved through the courts and salons of France, Britain, and Vienna in the years after Napoleon, and recorded what she saw with a sharp and worldly eye. Her pages are full of the ministers, monarchs, and intrigues of the age, observed from the inside by a woman who knew everyone who mattered.
