Naked is a 1997 collection of essays by David Sedaris. He writes about his eccentric childhood in Raleigh, North Carolina, his obsessive-compulsive habits as a child, a summer camp in Greece, his struggle with drink and drugs in college, his time in a dormitory for disabled students at Kent State University and his mother's death, with sharp wit and dark humor. Many of the essays were first heard on the radio program This American Life. The book won the Randy Shilts Award for Gay Non-Fiction from the Publishing Triangle in 1998.

Read a diary entry on American radio in 1992 about working as a Christmas elf at Macy's, and turned a job cleaning apartments into a career. The essays are about his family, mainly, and they are funnier and crueller than the affectionate reputation suggests: his mother's drinking, his father's favouritism, his sister Tiffany's death.
