About this book

Natural Law in the Spiritual World is by Henry Drummond. The contents list Biogenesis, Degeneration, Growth, Death, Mortification, Eternal Life, Environment, Conformity to Type, Semi-Parasitism, Parasitism and Classification. The preface says no class of works is received with more suspicion, the author had almost said derision, than those which deal with Science and Religion.

The text says that what the disciples of Science really cry out for in Religion is a new standpoint, and that the one hope, therefore, for Science is more Science. The text quotes Bacon as saying that a little natural philosophy, and the first entrance into it, disposes the opinion to atheism, but that much natural philosophy, and wading deep into it, will bring about men's minds to religion. The text says there are two ways of hating life, a true and a false, and that the other way is the religious.
