About this book

Oona Lockhart experiences the years of her life in a disrupted order, finding that her age and memories no longer move together. The story returns to a New Year’s Eve party in Brooklyn as she approaches her nineteenth birthday. This time-travel novel explores the uncertainty of encountering a future too early and trying to understand a life whose pieces arrive rearranged.

About the author

Margarita Montimore

Oona Out of Order gives a woman a life that arrives in the wrong sequence: every birthday from nineteen onwards drops her into a random year of her own future or past, in a body of that age, with the memories of everything she has lived so far and none of what is coming. Montimore uses it to ask what a life is when the order is removed.
