About this book
Parsifal, with the subtitle Story and Analysis of Wagner's Great Opera, is by H. R. Haweis. A note says the story and analysis of Parsifal was first published as a part of the well-known work My Musical Memories by Mr. Haweis. The contents list names, among others, Wahnfried, Parsifal, Act I, Act II, Act III and When the Curtain Fell.
The text says that before Parsifal wins a spiritual triumph, he must be spiritually tried, and that his inner life must be deepened and developed. Siegfried, Wagner's son, thirteen years old, thanks the actors personally in a few simple words, stifled with sobs, and all the children shake hands with them. The King of Bavaria is said to have charged himself upon Wagner's death with the education of his son.
