Partners in Crime is a collection of linked detective stories by Agatha Christie, first published in 1929, starring her married sleuths Tommy and Tuppence Beresford. Bored with quiet peacetime life, the pair take over a detective agency as a front for British intelligence, and in each case they amuse themselves by solving the mystery in the manner of a different famous fictional detective of the day, from Sherlock Holmes to Christie’s own Hercule Poirot. The result is both a lively set of puzzles and an affectionate parody of the whole golden age of crime writing that Christie herself had helped to create.
