About this book
The chronicles present Paul Bunyan as a mighty logger, inventor of the lumber industry and leader of a band that tramped the continent. The account of the Winter of the Blue Snow describes sapphire flakes falling first in the North on a mild winter wind. A rescue episode has the logger wade a mile from shore and lift an apparently newborn calf so large that carrying it requires both arms.
The calf is bright blue, matching the strange snow, and a shiver reassures its rescuer that life remains. The bunkhouses have their own entertainers, whose activities include telling logging tales, singing at their comrades' request and jigging with extraordinary speed.
