About this book

René Descartes set out to rebuild human knowledge from the ground up, doubting everything he possibly could until he reached one certainty he could not doubt: that he was thinking, and therefore existed. René Descartes

René Descartes (1596-1650) was a French philosopher, mathematician, and scientist often called the father of modern philosophy. He invented analytic geometry, argued for radical doubt as the path to certainty, and coined the phrase 'I think, therefore I am,' reshaping Western thought.
