Report on the Migration of Birds presents the pioneering survey work of John Alexander Harvie-Brown (1844-1916), the Scottish naturalist who organised lighthouse keepers around the British coasts to record the passage of migrating birds. With John Cordeaux he built the schedule system that turned scattered keepers' notes into systematic migration science decades before ringing studies. Harvie-Brown's vertebrate faunas of Scotland remain foundations of Scottish natural history.
