Restoration of the Gospel is a doctrinal work by Osborne J. P. Widtsoe (1877-1920), the Latter-day Saint educator and writer, brother of the apostle John A. Widtsoe. The book presents the Latter-day Saint account of the apostasy from primitive Christianity and the restoration through Joseph Smith, written for study and instruction. Widtsoe taught at church schools and the University of Utah before his early death. The book belongs to the systematising doctrinal literature of the early twentieth-century church.
