Robots of the World! Arise!

Robots of the World! Arise! is a book by Mari Wolf. A teaser question asks what you would do if your best robots, children of your own brain, walked up and said "We want union scale". A telephone buzzes into the narrator's sleep-fogged brain, and the caller, Jack Anderson, over at the factory, asks Don to come down right away.

The narrator says Rob was gone and that the androids at the factory were gone too, and describes Rob O as an ideal valet, the best household model he had ever owned. The narrator calls the factory a small plant but all his own, the Don Morrison Fissionables Inc., and says he designed the androids himself. The text has a speaker say "Now you people will know we mean business", gesturing toward the heap of metal and plastic that had once been the pride of the Carron City police force. The narrator says that on Saturday they delivered to the Army right on the dot, and that the androids had their contract and were considered men.
