About this book
Samuel F.B. Morse, His Letters and Journals is in two volumes, and is edited and supplemented by his son Edward Lind Morse. The dedication is to a wife whose loving interest and apt criticism have been of great value to the person dedicating the work. A letter signed J. Morse, written to a boy ten years old, earnestly recommends attending to one thing at a time.
The text says that in June of the year 1818 Morse returned to the North and spent the summer completing such portraits as he had carried with him in an unfinished state. A description of a crowd says that at the Palais Royal a larger crowd had collected and a greater body of troops were marching and countermarching in the Place du Palais Royal.
