About this book
Stained Glass Work: A Text-book for Students and Workers in Glass is by Christopher Whall. The chapter list covers cutting, painting, firing, staining and aciding, and soldering. Part II of the contents lists the great questions of colour, light, architectural fitness, limitations, thought, imagination and allegory.
The text says that the practice of stained-glass is a very good way to learn colour, or as much of it as can come by learning. A list of plates credits work from Gloucester Cathedral, including St. Boniface, to the author and his pupils. The same list explains that in all instances the transcribing of the work in the glass has been the work of pupils under his supervision.
