State of the Union Addresses, credited to William McKinley, gathers addresses dated from December 6, 1897 to December 3, 1900. One address says that peace and good will with all the nations of the earth continue unbroken. An address says the reply to its note was received on the 23d day of October and is in the direction of a better understanding.
A passage says that receipts now equal expenditures and that deficient revenues no longer create alarm. One address proposes conferring the full and necessary power on the Secretary of the Treasury and imposing upon him the duty to uphold the present gold standard and preserve the coins of the two metals on a parity with each other.
