State of the Union Addresses, credited to Woodrow Wilson, gathers addresses dated from December 2, 1913 to December 7, 1920. One address cites a constitutional duty to give to the Congress information of the state of the Union and takes up several matters. Another address says that systems of rural credit have been studied and developed on the other side of the water while farmers were left to shift for themselves in the ordinary money market.

An address says the Congress recently authorized the creation of a special commission to study the various systems of rural credit which have been put into operation in Europe. One address calls the argument for the proposed amendments of the organic law of Porto Rico brief and conclusive. One address says that the day has come when Democracy is being put upon its final test.

Woodrow Wilson worked as a political scientist and university president before serving as governor of New Jersey and the twenty-eighth U.S. president. The New Freedom grew from the reform program he presented during the 1912 presidential campaign.
