About this book

The Social Center is an address delivered by Hon. Woodrow Wilson, Governor of New Jersey, before the First National Conference on Civic and Social Center Development, at Madison, Wis., October 25, 1911. The speaker says that five months ago the speaker did not know anything about this movement and has taken no active part in it.

The speaker says that when you have absorbed yourself in a particular business through half your life, you have no other point of view than the point of view of that business. The speaker says that we must see to it that the bottom is left open and that the soil of the common feeling of the common consciousness is always fertile and unclogged. The speaker also says that no man can calculate the courses of genius, and no man can foretell the leadership of nations.
