Tales of Our Coast is a collection of sea and shore stories by S. R. Crockett (1859-1914), the Scottish minister turned best-selling novelist of the Kailyard and adventure schools. Crockett’s tales of smugglers, wrecks, and the rugged Galloway coast he knew from boyhood made him hugely popular in the 1890s. He wrote at great speed and was a friend of Stevenson. The collection shows his gift for vigorous coastal adventure. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
