About the author

Gary Russell

Gary Russell wrote The Art of The Fellowship of the Ring, a companion to Peter Jackson's film rather than to Tolkien's novel: it collects the conceptual paintings, the costume and creature designs and the set drawings that Alan Lee, John Howe and the Weta workshops produced, with the artists explaining their decisions. His main career is elsewhere.
